MEO Commedia a La Carte Fest 2026: Lisbon's first-edition comedy festival, 29 October to 1 November

The festival was created by the improv group Commedia a La Carte, is co-produced by Last Tour Portugal and Aquele Abraço, and is presented by MEO. The programme covers stand-up, improv, music, theatre, visual arts, performing arts and podcasts, and is spread across several halls in the city: MEO Arena, Sagres Campo Pequeno, Coliseu dos Recreios, Capitólio, Cinema São Jorge and Teatro Tivoli BBVA.

The headliner is Jerry Seinfeld, who plays MEO Arena on 1 November. The organisers state that this is his first live performance in Portugal.

On 29 October the Coliseu dos Recreios hosts two stand-up shows: Herman & Octeto, with Herman José, and Namastê by Inês Aires Pereira. The same evening Conjunto Cuca Monga plays the Capitólio, while Cinema São Jorge stages Matilde Breyner and The Umbilical Brothers. On 30 October the improv format Rebenta A Bolha, with César Mourão, Vasco Palmeirim, Pedro Ribeiro and Vera Fernandes, takes over Sagres Campo Pequeno, and the podcast Separados de Fresco, with David Cristina and Ana Garcia Martins, is recorded at Teatro Tivoli BBVA.

Carolina Deslandes, Tatanka and Bárbara Tinoco share the Sagres Campo Pequeno stage on 31 October for Tributo Pop, a music show that revisits popular songs from Portugal. The Capitólio has two concerts that night, Clarice Falcão and Cebola Mol, and the Coliseu dos Recreios hosts Imagina, an improv show by Fábio Porchat, César Mourão, João Vicente and Gustavo Miranda.

Part of the programme is free. Commedia a La Carte Kids, an improv show for children, is at Parque Mayer on 31 October. Parque Mayer also hosts the street-theatre company Covent Garden in Lisbon and the roaming performers of Chapitô à Solta from 29 to 31 October, all without charge.
