Maputo Diary is a photographic testimony of intimacy, belonging, and resistance, captured over more than two decades in Maputo, Mozambique, by Danish photographer and filmmaker Ditte Haarløv Johnsen. Blending social documentary with a deeply personal approach, the exhibition offers a portrait of human relationships and daily life in the Mozambican capital, tracing the country's transformations through the stories of its inhabitants.

Over twenty years, Johnsen built a photographic archive marked by proximity and trust, documenting family, friends, lovers, and various communities that were part of her life in Maputo. Among these relationships, her friendship with the "Manas"—the city's transgender and queer community—became central to the project. The work functions as both an affective archive and a testament to the people, bonds, and experiences that shaped the artist's journey in Maputo.

Stories of friendship, loss, identity, and resilience intertwine in a body of work that reflects both a personal path and a broader social reality. The exhibition is hosted at Narrativa gallery, open Wednesday to Friday from 2pm to 7pm and Saturday from 2pm to 5pm.
