Read full details

This long-term exhibition at MUDE – Museu do Design rethinks design history by presenting objects in context, questioning how and why they were designed, communicated, perceived, and consumed in their time. Spanning national and international pieces from product, fashion, graphic, stage, interiors, and contemporary jewellery, the show is organized chronologically across the museum's third and fourth floors.

Visitors can explore iconic works from the MUDE collection, including pieces like José Espinho's "Estirador, cadeira J.E." from 1969. The exhibition design reuses materials from previous displays and the museum's renovation, reflecting a commitment to sustainability. Curated by Bárbara Coutinho, the show aims to foster debate on responsible change and position the museum as a practical example of these principles.
