Sfânta Cuvioasă Parascheva pilgrimage in Iași, 8-15 October 2026, Sfânta Liturghie on 14 October

The programme is organised by the Arhiepiscopia Iașilor. In 2026 the relics of Sfântul Cuvios Paisie de la Sihăstria, brought from Mănăstirea Sihăstria, are displayed next to the reliquary of Sfânta Cuvioasă Parascheva. The Sfântul Sinod al Bisericii Ortodoxe Române approved his canonisation in 2024, with 2 December as his commemoration day, together with Sfântul Cuvios Cleopa.

The pilgrimage opens on 8 October at 6.00 with the Acatistul Sfintei Cuvioase Parascheva. At 6.30 the relics of both saints are carried in procession around the cathedral, and at 7.00 they are placed for veneration in the canopy on the platform in front of the Căminul preoțesc Sfântul Mare Mucenic Gheorghe. They remain there until the queue can be handled inside the cathedral, which the organisers estimate for the start of 15 October.

Services continue daily in the cathedral: Miezonoptica, Utrenia and the Sfânta Liturghie from 7.00 to 11.00, and the Vecernia with the Paraclisul Sfintei Cuvioase Parascheva in the afternoon. On 11 October the Calea Sfinților procession with the relics of Sfânta Cuvioasă Parascheva and Sfântul Cuvios Paisie de la Sihăstria runs from 19.00 to 20.30. On 13 October a vigil begins at 21.00 and ends at 3.00 with the Sfânta Liturghie.

On 14 October, the feast day, the Sfânta Liturghie starts at 9.00 on a podium at the edge of the Pietonalul Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt, in front of the altar of the Catedrala Mitropolitană. Large screens in several locations let people follow the service from a distance. All cathedral services are broadcast live on Radio Doxologia.

Two information numbers, 0757.57.91.00 and 0757.033.466, are available from 8 to 15 October, and the position of the end of the pilgrims' queue is shown in real time on doxologia.ro and mmb.ro. A related cultural programme, the Sacrum Iași Art Festival, brings together over 50 events during the month.
