Boz Scaggs is an American singer, songwriter, and guitarist who first played with Steve Miller in blues bands and later was a member of the Steve Miller Band. His solo breakthrough came with Silk Degrees, which produced the hit singles 'Lowdown' and 'Lido Shuffle'.
His later albums Down Two Then Left and Middle Man were both platinum; the latter produced the top-40 singles 'Breakdown Dead Ahead' and 'Jojo'. The session musicians he hand-picked for Silk Degrees went on to form Toto. He has continued to record and tour, with recent albums Out of the Blues and Detour.
