Alicia Ynez performs a free Happy Hour concert at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro in New Orleans, with doors at 4 pm and the show from 5 to 6pm.
Alicia Ynez appears as part of the Happy Hour Concert Series at Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro in New Orleans. Alicia Ynez is a New Orleans-based vocalist originally from Cochabamba, Bolivia, who discovered jazz at an early age. She was inspired by her mentor, Cuban jazz pianist Ana del Carmen Mendez, and draws on jazz tradition as well as the great voices of soul.
Her interpretations cover jazz standards and New Orleans soul, and her music reflects both her Bolivian roots and her connection to the musical culture of New Orleans. She performs throughout New Orleans in duos, trios and quartets, and can often be heard with Victor Campbell and The Dewdrops as well as leading her own ensembles. Doors are at 4 pm and the show runs from 5 to 6pm.
The performance is free, with no ticketing, and seating is on a first come-first served basis. Snug Harbor Jazz Bistro presents free live weekly concerts, which can be seen every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday in person or by streaming on the Snug Harbor Facebook page. The restaurant is open 5pm - 10pm for dinner after showtime.
