The Chester, Pennsylvania native — born Denise White — made history at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, winning Best Progressive R&B Album for *So Glad to Know You* in a first-ever tie in the category. Known for her #1 Billboard hit "Call My Name," Avery blends church-rooted piano, soulful vocals, and independent artistry as a Spelman College alumna and founder of BigShine Recordings.
