Ballet Idaho presents The Nutcracker at the Morrison Center for the Performing Arts in Boise on 18 December 2026, 19:00. The Boise Philharmonic plays Tchaikovsky's score. The story begins at a party at the Stahlbaums' home, where Clara and her family celebrate the season while waiting for their guests.

Drosselmeyer brings a life-sized Nutcracker doll, and Clara is enchanted by it. When she falls asleep that evening, she goes on an adventure through a battle with the Mouse King and his army, then to a snowy forest and on to the Land of the Sweets.

The ballet by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is a two-act work first performed on 18 December 1892 at the Imperial Mariinsky Theatre in Saint Petersburg. Everyone entering, regardless of age, needs a ticket.
