Bonobo: Distance In Static Live — Philadelphia

Bonobo — the recording alias of British producer Simon Green — brings his Distance In Static Live tour to Union Transfer in Philadelphia. The show falls near the end of a 21-date North American run supporting his eighth studio album, "Distance In Static," out via Ninja Tune, which features Arooj Aftab, Joy Crookes, Nilüfer Yanya, and others across tracks recorded in Los Angeles, Tokyo, and London. Green built his reputation over two decades of atmospheric, sample-driven downtempo and trip-hop, with catalog staples like "Kong," "Cirrus," and "Kerala" earning him a wide following. For this tour he debuts a new live show designed by Pierre Claude, who has also worked with Air, Gesaffelstein, and Caroline Polachek. Union Transfer, a converted Philadelphia rail depot, suits Bonobo's textured, bass-heavy production well. The Philadelphia date comes one night before the tour closes at Brooklyn Paramount in New York.
