Drumplay World Jazz Ensemble Benefit

Cleveland's own Drumplay World Jazz Ensemble brings its signature blend of Afro-Cuban, Brazilian, and Middle Eastern motifs to Treelawn Social Club for a benefit concert supporting XCSB's new studios. The group, performing for nearly 35 years, creates spontaneous "rhythmprovisations" that make each gig unique, drawing on a rotating collective of the area's finest musicians.

Attendees can expect a fusion of world rhythms and jazz, with a spoken-word element honoring the late Daniel Thompson, Cuyahoga County's First Poet Laureate, whose poetry addresses homelessness and social justice. The evening celebrates Thompson's legacy in Cleveland's jazz and poetry scene, offering a night of creative improvisation and community spirit.
