Gilla Band Live in San Francisco

Gilla Band, the Dublin-based quartet known for their abrasive blend of post-punk and noise rock, bring their intense live show to The Independent. The band—vocalist Dara Kiely, guitarist Alan Duggan, bassist Daniel Fox, and drummer Adam Faulkner—has been redefining guitar music for over a decade, earning a reputation for performances that feel "genuinely dangerous, like one last rave before the apocalypse." Formed in 2011, Gilla Band (originally Girl Band) rose from Dublin's indie scene with a string of critically acclaimed releases, including *Holding Hands with Jamie* (2015) and *Most Normal* (2022). After a brief hiatus and a name change in 2021, the band continues to push boundaries, with their upcoming album *Pugnello* set for release in late 2026. Their San Francisco show promises an evening of raw, confrontational rock from a band that remains at the forefront of experimental guitar music.
