Hed Cheez, Stephe DK and Porch Party in Cleveland

Hed Cheez is a solo project by Mike Baker, known from The Tufted Puffins, Sleazy Jesus and the Splatter Pigs, and Hucklebuck. The project moves away from Mike's punk rock history into an experimental realm using free jazz, loops, composition, electrified trumpet, effects peddles, Electronic Wind Instrument, vocals, sonic landscapes and samples. Stephe DK, pronounced "Steve Decay", was the voice of Proletarian Art Threat and the New Lou Reeds.

His new eponymous band is a distillation of his earlier work: blues-adjacent guitars, lyrics about the brutalities and hypocrisies of late-Capitalist life, the rhythm section of Night Medicine drummer Pat Simen and Ron Kretsch on electric upright bass, and vocalist and percussionist Ali Smith. Porch Party was born on a porch in the westside of Cleveland and combines post, punk and modern rock.
