Mariachazo with Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán

Mariachazo brings the legendary Mariachi Vargas de Tecalitlán to Kansas City for a night of traditional Mexican folk music. The ensemble, founded in 1896 by Gaspar Vargas, has been a cornerstone of mariachi for over a century, evolving through five generations while preserving the classic "Sonido Tecalitlán" sound. Attendees can expect a full mariachi experience with the group's fourteen members, including violins, trumpets, guitarrón, guitar, vihuela, and harp, performing in their signature charro suits.

Joining the headliners is Mariachi Nuevo Tecalitlan, adding another layer of authentic mariachi artistry to the evening. The concert offers a chance to hear the rich harmonies and lively rhythms that have made Mariachi Vargas a cultural icon, from their early days in Jalisco to their historic recordings and film appearances.
