Ricky Skaggs & Kentucky Thunder Christmas

Ricky Skaggs, the neotraditional country and bluegrass singer who plays mandolin, fiddle, guitar, and banjo, brings his Christmas show to Knoxville with his band Kentucky Thunder. The concert is built around acoustic, harmony-driven arrangements of seasonal favorites old and new, from "Silent Night" and "Deck the Halls" to "Let It Snow," alongside the band's own bluegrass Christmas songs.

Skaggs has deep roots in American music: he first played onstage with Bill Monroe at age six, later joined the Clinch Mountain Boys and the Country Gentlemen, and became the youngest musician inducted into the Grand Ole Opry at the time. His list of honors includes 15 Grammy wins and membership in the Country Music Hall of Fame. Kentucky Thunder brings tight harmony and first-class vocals and musicianship to the holiday program.
