Tournament of Kings

Overview

Tournament of Kings is a medieval-themed dinner show inside the Excalibur Hotel and Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Audience members are served a three-course meal featuring Cornish game hen, typically without utensils, while eight European kings compete in jousting and capture-the-flag contests at King Arthur's request. Cast members encourage the crowd to join in, so expect cheering, booing, and plenty of audience participation throughout the night.

Created for the hotel by producer Peter Jackson and his son Patrick, with Doug Baker as Merlin and scriptwriter, the show began as King Arthur's Tournament. After thousands of performances it closed and returned under its current name with a new script, upgraded costumes, and a modernized set. The storyline takes a dark turn when Mordred kills King Arthur, but his son Christopher ultimately defeats the villain amid fireworks and pyrotechnics and is crowned king.
