Wax + DJ Hoppa: Live at The Independent

Rapper-singer-songwriter Wax brings his underground set to The Independent, backed by veteran hip-hop producer DJ Hoppa. A former Def Jam signee with a Number One Billboard hit in several European countries and a dozen or so albums, Wax has been a niche underground favorite for two decades. DJ Hoppa runs his own Broken Complex label, has produced for legendary hip-hop artists, and racked up hundreds of millions of streams.

Joining them is Maryland rapper K.A.A.N., known for rapid, breathless flows and introspective writing; he has worked with Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, and Xzibit, and collaborated with Royce da 5'9". The bill also includes Intuition, rounding out an evening of wordplay, producer-driven hip-hop, and close-quarters indie-rap energy on the Divisadero corridor.
