The organiser describes the winter edition as a festively decorated Markt der Ideen with crafts and organic-certified food, alongside performances, walk-acts and appearances by local and regional bands.

Access to the festival grounds and to the Markt der Ideen is free, and Tollwood states that more than 90 percent of its cultural events can be attended without a ticket.

The 2026 motto is "All in fürs Klima – das Spiel deines Lebens". Tollwood puts climate protection back into focus with four discussion rounds in the Grand Chapiteau, and an artwork at the entrance, a walk-in house of cards, poses the question "Was steht auf dem Spiel? ".

The talks open on 30 November with climate activist Luisa Neubauer and "Was wäre, wenn wir mutig sind? ". On 7 December marine biologist Uli Kunz presents "Planet MEER – Terra X live", and on 14 December "Klima.

Wandel. Werte.

" brings together environmental ethicist Uta Eser and meteorologist Sven Plöger. The guest for 21 December is to be announced in mid-October.

The Grand Chapiteau tent also hosts three productions from circus and dance. Gravity & Other Myths open with the contemporary circus piece Ten Thousand Hours from 25 to 29 November. Lewis Major Projects follow with the contemporary dance work Triptych from 2 to 9 December, presented as a Deutschlandpremiere. Galapiat Cirque close the series with MAD IN FINLAND, contemporary circus from Finland, from 12 to 20 December.

The Winterfestival traditionally ends with the Tollwood-Silvesterparty and the Mitternachtswalzer on the Theresienwiese on 31.12.
