Acerca de Buddy Guy
His 1991 album Damn Right, I've Got the Blues marked a mainstream commercial breakthrough after decades as a respected sideman and club performer. He has continued to record into his later career, releasing Born to Play Guitar in 2015 and Ain't Done with the Blues in 2025. His track "Stone Crazy" was ranked among Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitar Songs.
Guy is known for his showmanship, including playing guitar with his teeth and above his head, and for performing with polka-dot Fender Stratocasters. Eric Clapton has called him the best guitar player alive, and his playing influenced Jimi Hendrix, Jimmy Page, and Stevie Ray Vaughan.
He has won nine Grammy Awards plus a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2005, and received Kennedy Center Honors in 2012 and the National Medal of Arts in 2003. Rolling Stone ranked him the 27th greatest guitarist in a 2023 list.
