Butcher Babies are an American metal band formed in 2010 in Los Angeles, California, by vocalists Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey. The band takes its name from the Plasmatics song "Butcher Baby," a tribute to that band's frontwoman Wendy O. Williams. Carla Harvey departed in 2024 to pursue a career in deathcare, leaving Shepherd alongside guitarist Henry Flury and drummer Dave Nickles.

Acerca de Butcher Babies

Drawing on influences including Pantera, Slayer, and Slipknot, the band plays a mix of metalcore, groove metal, and thrash metal. Their catalog includes the debut album Goliath (2013), Take It Like a Man (2015), Lilith (2017), and the double album Eye for an Eye… / …'Til the World's Blind (2023).

The band's aesthetic draws heavily on horror films such as The Texas Chain Saw Massacre and House of 1000 Corpses, informing both its visual presentation and aggressive stage performances. Butcher Babies built a following through extensive touring alongside major acts including Marilyn Manson, In This Moment, and Fear Factory.

Following Harvey's 2024 departure, Shepherd has continued to front the band as it maintains an active touring and recording schedule.
