Charles Wesley Godwin is an American country and folk singer-songwriter born May 18, 1993, in Morgantown, West Virginia. He began writing and performing music while studying finance at West Virginia University, drawing on the history, landscape, and working-class life of his home state as recurring subject matter in his songwriting.

Acerca de Charles Wesley Godwin
His debut album, Seneca (2019), introduced a narrative songwriting style rooted in Appalachian setting, followed by How the Mighty Fall (2021), an album noted by critics for favoring other people's stories over autobiography. His single "Jamie," featuring Zach Bryan, was certified gold by Music Canada, and "All Again" (2023) was certified gold by the RIAA, marking a commercial breakthrough beyond his early regional following.
Godwin built his career independently, self-releasing music before signing with Big Loud Records in early 2023, a deal that paired his self-produced, story-driven songwriting with wider country-radio distribution. His third album, Family Ties (2023), continued the narrative approach of his earlier work while reaching a larger national audience than his independent releases had.
He has continued collaborating with established country artists, including Luke Combs on the 2026 single "Better That Way," which charted on the US Country Airplay chart and in New Zealand. A fourth studio album, Christian Name, is scheduled for release in 2026, continuing the narrative songwriting that has defined his catalog since Seneca.
