Flamin' Groovies
The Flamin' Groovies are an American rock band formed in San Francisco in 1965, originally co-led by Roy Loney and Cyril Jordan. Emerging from the same scene as the city's psychedelic bands, the group instead pursued a rawer, roots-driven rock and roll sound that anticipated punk and power pop.

Acerca de Flamin' Groovies
Their 1971 album Teenage Head was later included in the reference book 1001 Albums You Must Hear Before You Die. After Loney's 1971 departure, Chris Wilson joined as co-leader and steered the band toward a more melodic power-pop direction, culminating in 1976's Shake Some Action, widely regarded as their most acclaimed record, recorded for Sire.
The band was active through the late 1970s before disbanding in 1991. Cyril Jordan reformed the group's 1970s-era lineup of himself, Wilson and George Alexander in 2013, and they released the reunion album Fantastic Plastic in 2017. Co-founder Roy Loney died in 2019.
The Flamin' Groovies remain active, with a current lineup led by Jordan, and released new material as recently as 2023.
