Acerca de Hue and Cry
Their debut album, Seduced and Abandoned, was released in 1987 and included the single "Labour of Love," which became their signature hit and remains their best-known song. The follow-up, Remote, produced further hits including "Looking for Linda" and "Violently (Your Words Hit Me)," cementing the duo's run of UK chart success in the late 1980s.
Through the 1990s, Hue and Cry expanded their sound to incorporate folk, country, Latin and jazz influences, moving away from the pure pop-soul style of their early records. Pat Kane has built a parallel career as a journalist, broadcaster and author, co-founding a national Sunday newspaper in 1999 and publishing the book The Play Ethic in 2004; he was also elected Rector of the University of Glasgow in 1990. Greg Kane has continued as the duo's principal composer and arranger.
The duo re-entered the public eye through a win on a televised talent contest in 2005 and have continued releasing albums since, including Open Soul (2008) and Hot Wire (2012), maintaining an active recording partnership more than four decades after their formation.
