Acerca de Mae Stephens
Her breakthrough came in December 2022, when she posted snippets of the song "If We Ever Broke Up" on TikTok; the clips went viral the following month, leading to a record deal with EMI. The full single was released in February 2023 and peaked at number 13 on the UK Singles Chart, later earning Silver certification from the BPI and Gold certification from the RIAA.
Stephens describes her sound as pop-funk, citing Freddie Mercury and Sigrid among her influences. She has since collaborated with Meghan Trainor on "Mr Right" and with Alok and the Chainsmokers on "Jungle," and released her debut EP, Securely Insecure, in August 2024 through EMI Records.
Since her viral breakthrough, Stephens has continued to release new material through EMI Records, building on the commercial momentum of "If We Ever Broke Up" as she develops a fuller body of work.
