Acerca de Montreal Canadiens
The Canadiens have won the Stanley Cup 24 times, more than any other NHL franchise, including five consecutive championships from 1956 to 1960 and four straight from 1976 to 1979. Their most recent title came in 1992-93, the last Stanley Cup won by a Canadian-based team. The club was one of the "Original Six" teams that made up the NHL from 1942 to 1967.
Players who wore the Canadiens' red jersey include Maurice "Rocket" Richard, Jean Beliveau, Guy Lafleur and Patrick Roy. The team played 70 seasons at the Montreal Forum, winning 22 of its Stanley Cups there, before moving to the Bell Centre in 1996. The franchise carries deep cultural significance in Quebec, closely tied to French-Canadian identity.
