The Rifles
The Rifles are an English indie rock band formed in 2004 in Chingford, London, after singer and guitarist Joel Stoker and guitarist Lucas Crowther met at Redbridge College and decided to start a band after watching an Oasis concert together, bonding over a shared love of Britpop and mod-influenced guitar music.

Acerca de The Rifles
The band's debut album, No Love Lost (2006), established them within the UK indie scene, and they have released five further studio albums since, including None the Wiser (2014), their highest-charting record, and the double album Big Life (2016). Early singles such as "When I'm Alone" (2005) built a devoted following, and the band has been described as a cult act rather than a mainstream one despite two decades of consistent UK chart entries.
Alongside Stoker and Crowther, the band's lineup has included bassist Rob Pyne, drummer Grant Marsh, and keyboardist Dean Mumford. The group built a reputation as an energetic live act at festivals across the UK, with audiences known for singing along to their material, and Stoker has continued to write and record much of the band's output himself between tours.
After an eight-year gap between albums, the Rifles returned in 2024 with their sixth studio record, Love Your Neighbour, recorded largely by Stoker in his home studio and drawing on everyday life for its songwriting, including the neighbourhood anecdote behind the track "Mr Sunflower."
