The Undertones
The Undertones are a punk and power pop band formed in Derry, Northern Ireland, in 1974 by vocalist Feargal Sharkey, guitarists John and Damian O'Neill, bassist Michael Bradley and drummer Billy Doherty. Drawing on the Beatles, the Ramones and the Sex Pistols, the band became one of the defining acts of the late-1970s UK punk scene.

Acerca de The Undertones
Their 1978 single 'Teenage Kicks' became a favourite of BBC Radio 1 DJ John Peel and remains their best-known song. Studio albums including their self-titled 1979 debut, Hypnotised (1980), which reached number six on the UK chart, Positive Touch (1981) and The Sin of Pride (1983) showed the band expanding from punk into pop and soul-influenced territory.
The Undertones split in 1983 after Sharkey left to pursue other projects, including the band The Assembly and a solo career. They reformed in 1999 with new vocalist Paul McLoone and have continued to tour and record since.
