Acerca de Todd Rundgren
His 1972 double album Something/Anything?, largely recorded as a one-man band, produced the hits I Saw the Light and Hello It's Me and remains his commercial peak. The following year's A Wizard, a True Star pushed into experimental territory that influenced generations of bedroom musicians. In 1974 he formed the progressive rock band Utopia, and later solo albums such as Hermit of Mink Hollow (1978) yielded further hits, including the sports-arena staple Bang the Drum All Day (1983).
As a producer, Rundgren shaped landmark albums including Meat Loaf's Bat Out of Hell, the New York Dolls' self-titled debut, Grand Funk Railroad's We're an American Band, Badfinger's Straight Up, and XTC's Skylarking. He was also an early technology innovator, staging an interactive television concert in 1978 and releasing No World Order (1993), one of the first interactive, remixable albums.
Rundgren was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2021, recognized for decades of genre-melding songwriting and production, and continues to record and tour into his seventies.
