Acerca de Van Morrison Alumni Band

The band's members are drawn from Morrison's own touring and recording units and collectively hold several hundred credits on his albums. Its line-up has included Matt Holland on trumpet and flugelhorn, Robin Aspland on piano, Alec Dankworth on bass, drummers Ralph Salmins and Geoff Dunn, guitarist Matt White and Hammond organist Gary Baldwin, with vocalists including Jo Harman and Hayley Sanderson.

Concerts draw on Morrison's best-known songs, among them "Moondance," "Gloria," "Brown Eyed Girl," "Have I Told You Lately" and "Bright Side of the Road," performed in arrangements close to the original recordings that many of the musicians themselves played on. Van Morrison has publicly endorsed the project, saying the songs "are meant to be sung and heard."

The band tours concert halls and theatres as a live repertory show built from its members' shared history with the songwriter; Morrison himself does not perform in these concerts.
