Carmen by The Antonio Gades Company, Ghent, 10 December 2026

Carmen by The Antonio Gades Company is a flamenco ballet by Antonio Gades and Carlos Saura, performed at Capitole Gent in Ghent on 10 December 2026 at 20:00. The production is part of an international tour through France, Belgium and the Netherlands in December 2026. It marks the return of Compañía Antonio Gades to Belgium and the Netherlands, after a sold-out international tour in 2025.

Carmen is inspired by Mérimée's book and Bizet's opera, and was the first collaboration between Antonio Gades and filmmaker Carlos Saura. To capture the essence of Andalusian culture, the Spanish choreographer set Bizet's music against that of a live flamenco orchestra. The Gades Foundation continues his legacy 20 years after his death and still performs all over the world.
