Oldenburg is a mid-sized city in Lower Saxony built around the former ducal Schloss and its Schlossgarten park. A pedestrianised old town, a university with roughly 14,000 students and a strong cycling culture give it the feel of a regional hub between Bremen and the Dutch border.
