Ein Requiem für Mozart está programado para el domingo, 8 de noviembre de 2026 en Dom Essen. Consulta la fuente oficial antes de ir, ya que los horarios y detalles del lugar pueden cambiar.
This special concert presents Mozart's Requiem in D minor, K. 626, a work shrouded in mystery and completed after the composer's death in 1791. Attendees will hear the Süssmayr completion, the most widely performed version, featuring soprano, contralto, tenor, and bass soloists alongside a full SATB choir and orchestra. The instrumentation includes basset horns, bassoons, trumpets, trombones, timpani, strings, and organ, creating the solemn, powerful soundscape that has made this piece a cornerstone of classical repertoire.
The Requiem's history adds to its allure: commissioned anonymously, left unfinished at Mozart's death, and completed by Franz Xaver Süssmayr, it was originally intended for a memorial service. The concert offers a chance to experience this iconic work in a live setting, with its intricate fugues, dramatic sequences, and deeply moving melodies. Whether you are a longtime classical music enthusiast or new to Mozart, this performance promises an evening of profound musical storytelling.

Mozart composed part of the Requiem in Vienna in late 1791, but it was unfinished at his death. It was completed by Franz Xaver Süssmayr and delivered to Count Franz von Walsegg, who had commissioned it for a requiem service for his wife.
The Requiem is scored for two basset horns, two bassoons, two trumpets, three trombones, timpani, strings, and organ, with soprano, contralto, tenor, and bass soloists and SATB choir.
