Parzival, a stage production after the novel by Wolfram von Eschenbach, is performed at the Kammer in Aachen on Friday, 29 January 2027, at 20:00. Tickets start at EUR 30, and a discount is available. The production is by Stadttheater Aachen.
Parzival grows up sheltered in the forest, far from court life. His mother tries to keep him away from the pull of knighthood, but she fails and he goes out into the world. A hero's journey follows, toward the Holy Grail and the Knights of the Round Table.
Paula Schlagbauer stages the piece in her first production at Theater Aachen. She views Parzival's adventures against the backdrop of the new military service, with music and strong imagery.
The novel dates from around 1200. The Kammer is on the third floor of the theatre building and has just under 150 seats.
