The (R)evolution of Steve Jobs – Premiere in Aachen

This one-act opera explores the life of Steve Jobs, set at a time when he must confront his own mortality and reflect on the events that shaped his personal and professional life. The libretto by Mark Campbell draws on Jobs' Buddhist practice, using the concept of the ensō circle and the Zen practice of kinhin to structure a story of self-reflection.

Attendees can expect a contemporary opera with music by Mason Bates, incorporating electronic sounds with assistance from Skywalker Sound's Gary Rydstrom. The production features roles based on real-life figures including Steve Wozniak, Chrisann Brennan, and Kōbun Chino Otogawa, offering a nuanced portrait of a transformative figure in modern history.
