A Certain Ratio, the pioneering post-punk band from Greater Manchester, bring their distinctive blend of funk, disco, and Latin percussion to Edinburgh. Formed in 1977 and one of the first acts on Tony Wilson's Factory Records, the band helped forge a link between post-punk industrial and dance-floor funk. Their early influences included the Velvet Underground, Kraftwerk, and James Brown, and their sound evolved into a percussion-based post-punk funk that earned them seven Top Ten UK independent releases.

Attendees can expect a performance from the current lineup, which includes original members Jez Kerr and Martin Moscrop. The band continues to draw from a deep catalogue spanning from their 1980 debut *The Graveyard and the Ballroom* through to their 2024 album *It All Comes Down to This*. Known for their dark bass-heavy sound and energetic live shows, A Certain Ratio remain a vital force in the post-punk and funk scenes.

This is a rare opportunity to see a band that has influenced generations of musicians, from their early days supporting Talking Heads to their enduring legacy on Mute Records. The intimate venue in Edinburgh promises a night of raw, rhythmic music that bridges the gap between indie and dance.
