The tour departs at 15:30 and runs for 2 hours, and children under 16 must come with a parent or legal guardian. Guides and local farmers Philip and Daniel lead the walk through the archaeological landscape on their farm at Newtown Hill.
Along the route they share family stories, local history, myths and legends, and point out ancient houses, burial sites and field systems that date back over 5,000 years. The walk ends at the summit as the sun sets on Halloween night, with panoramic views from Dublin Bay to the Wicklow Mountains. The route is 2km with uphill sections and uneven terrain, and moderate fitness is required.
The tour is entirely outdoors on an exposed hill, so warm winter clothing and suitable outdoor footwear are necessary. In the event of a weather warning the tour is subject to cancellation.
The tour lasts 2 hours over a 2km route.
Children under 16 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian.
