Tosca at Auditorium Parco della Musica - Sala Sinopoli, Rome

Tosca is an opera in three acts by Giacomo Puccini, with an Italian libretto by Luigi Illica and Giuseppe Giacosa. The work is based on Victorien Sardou's 1887 French-language play La Tosca and is set in Rome in June 1800.

It contains depictions of torture, murder, and suicide. Musically, it is structured as a through-composed work, and Puccini used Wagnerian leitmotifs to identify characters, objects and ideas.
