Iron Mike Legacy

Iron Mike Legacy brings the iconic American military monuments to Las Vegas for a special tribute. These statues, collectively known as "Iron Mike," honor servicemen who embodied toughness and bravery. The term originated as nautical slang for a gyrocompass but became synonymous with inspiring soldiers.

The most famous Iron Mike is at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Virginia. Officially titled "Crusading for Right," it depicts a World War I Marine. Sculpted by Charles Raphaël Peyre, the statue was rejected by the Army due to the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor insignia, but Marine Corps General Smedley Butler purchased it with donated funds. Another significant monument stands at Belleau Wood in France, a bronze relief by Felix Weihs de Weldon, dedicated to the 5th and 6th Marine Regiments who fought in the bloodiest battle in Marine history up to that time. The Parris Island Iron Mike, created by Robert Ingersoll Aitken, shows a Marine with a Maxim machine gun.
