Sammy Rae & The Friends Bring High-Energy Jazz-Pop to Washington

Sammy Rae & The Friends, an American jazz-pop ensemble from Brooklyn, bring their high-energy live show to Washington. Led by singer-songwriter Samantha Bowers, the band is known for blending funk, jazz, rock, and folk into a dynamic stage presence with horns, rhythm section, and backing vocalists.

The group, formed in 2016, has built a strong following through sold-out shows and festival appearances, including a two-night sold-out stand at Washington's 9:30 Club in 2024. Their debut studio album *Something for Everybody* dropped in September 2024 via Nettwerk.

Opening the night is Melt, setting the stage for an evening of audience participation and ensemble interplay. Expect a community atmosphere as the band delivers a setlist drawn from their EPs and albums, including their surprise covers album *Songs We Wish We Wrote*.
