Step into the Emerald City at Sphere Las Vegas, where the 1939 classic The Wizard of Oz has been reimagined as a 4D immersive experience. The film's visuals have been expanded and enhanced with AI-generated imagery, and the score has been re-recorded with an 80-piece orchestra, preserving Herbert Stothart's original compositions. The experience unfolds across the venue's massive 160,000-square-foot screen at 16K resolution, with multi-sensory effects that bring the story to life.
As you watch, you'll feel the wind and see leaves swirl during the tornado scene, with the audience placed inside the funnel. Butterflies flutter through the theatre in Oz, foam apples fall from the ceiling during the encounter with the angry Apple Tree, and snow drifts down when Glinda lifts the spell on the poppies. Pyrotechnics ignite in the Wizard's throne room, and life-size flying monkeys soar overhead using UAV technology. The journey begins in the atrium, designed to resemble sepia-toned Kansas, and concludes with a post-show visit to a life-sized replica of the Wizard's throne room, where you can interact with his ghostly green head.
