À propos de Gary Clark Jr.
Clark signed to Warner Bros. Records in 2011 after his self-released EP The Bright Lights, the same year Rolling Stone named him its "Best Young Gun." His major-label debut, Blak and Blu (2012), reached number six on the Billboard 200. He has since won four Grammy Awards from six nominations, including Best Traditional R&B Performance in 2014 for "Please Come Home" and three awards in 2020 for "This Land."
Clark's music fuses blues with rock, soul and hip-hop, and he has recorded and performed with Alicia Keys, Foo Fighters, Childish Gambino and The Rolling Stones. His cover of the Beatles' "Come Together," recorded for the Justice League soundtrack, became his first charting single in 2017. He followed Blak and Blu with The Story of Sonny Boy Slim (2015) and This Land (2019), inspired by Woody Guthrie's song of the same name.
This Land received a Metacritic score of 81 and was praised by Texas Monthly as one of the standout songs of Clark's career. His most recent album, JPEG Raw, arrived in 2024, continuing a catalogue blending blues guitar tradition with contemporary production nearly two decades after Antone first put him on an Austin stage.
