St. Louis Blues
The St. Louis Blues are a professional ice hockey team based in St. Louis, Missouri, competing in the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League. The franchise was established in 1967 as one of six teams added in the NHL's first wave of expansion, and takes its name from the W. C. Handy composition "Saint Louis Blues."

Coached in their first seasons by Scotty Bowman and led by defenseman Barclay Plager, the Blues reached the Stanley Cup Final in each of their first three seasons (1968-1970) but were swept each time. The team enjoyed a long run of on-ice success in the late 1980s and 1990s built around sniper Brett Hull, who scored 86 goals in the 1990-91 season and won the Hart Trophy, and the club made the playoffs in 25 consecutive seasons between 1980 and 2004.
After more than five decades without a championship, the Blues won their first Stanley Cup in 2019, defeating the Boston Bruins in the Final and ending their status as the last unclaimed franchise from the 1967 expansion. The team plays its home games at Enterprise Center in downtown St. Louis, its arena since relocating from the St. Louis Arena in 1994.
The Blues are owned by St. Louis-based ownership groups SCP Worldwide and TowerBrook Capital Partners and continue to compete for the Stanley Cup as part of the NHL's Central Division.
