The Weather Station is a Canadian folk project based in Toronto, established in 2006 by singer, guitarist and pianist Tamara Lindeman. Born in Ontario in 1984, Lindeman transitioned from a career in acting into music and has remained the group's central songwriting voice through a lineup that has expanded over time to include eight musicians, among them guitarists, a saxophonist and dual drummers.

À propos de The Weather Station

Following the 2009 debut The Line, The Weather Station released Loyalty in 2015, recorded near Paris with producers who had previously worked with Bahamas and Feist. Lindeman received a SOCAN Songwriting Prize nomination in 2013 for "Mule in the Flowers."

The band signed to Fat Possum Records in 2021 and released Ignorance the same year, an album confronting the climate crisis that was shortlisted for the Polaris Music Prize and brought the group its widest recognition to date. A companion album, How Is It That I Should Look at the Stars, followed in 2022, and the group's most recent release, Humanhood, arrived in 2025. Across its catalogue, The Weather Station has moved from spare indie folk arrangements toward more expansive, band-driven experimentation.
