À propos de Wu-Tang Clan
The group grew out of earlier collaborations among cousins Gary Grice (GZA), Robert Diggs (RZA) and Russell Jones (Ol' Dirty Bastard), who had performed under various aliases before forming the Clan with Method Man, Raekwon, Ghostface Killah, Inspectah Deck, U-God, Masta Killa and Cappadonna. Their sound combined East Coast and hardcore hip-hop with martial-arts film samples and street narratives. Ol' Dirty Bastard remained a member until his death in 2004.
The debut album Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) (1993) is regarded as one of the genre's greatest records, while Wu-Tang Forever (1997) debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. Later albums include The W (2000), Iron Flag (2001), 8 Diagrams (2007) and A Better Tomorrow (2014). Once Upon a Time in Shaolin (2015), pressed as a single copy, sold at auction for a record-breaking sum.
The group received a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Album in 1998 and was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2026. They concluded a farewell run billed as Wu-Tang Forever: The Final Chamber and have held a Las Vegas residency as hip-hop's first artist residency act.
