Cirque du Soleil OVO in Graz

Cirque du Soleil brings its insect-inspired production OVO to Graz for a single performance. The show, which premiered in Montreal in 2009, was created by director Deborah Colker and draws inspiration from the world of insects. Composer Berna Ceppas crafted a score influenced by Brazilian music.

Attendees can expect a high-energy spectacle featuring 54 performing artists from 16 countries. The cast includes principal characters like Master Flipo, the Foreigner, and Ladybug, alongside ants, butterflies, crickets, and cockroaches. Acrobatic acts include foot juggling, hand balancing, aerial straps, and the largest flying act ever undertaken by Cirque du Soleil.

The production's set, designed by Gringo Cardia, features a rear wall 19 metres wide by 8 metres high and 24 "firefly eggs" with LED bulbs. The show's narrative follows the journey of a mysterious egg and the chaotic insect world.
