Familienkonzert - Bachs Weihnachtsoratorium für Kinder

Familienkonzert - Bachs Weihnachtsoratorium für Kinder is a family concert at Saarbrücken, Sendesaal Funkhaus Halberg, on 4 December 2026, 16:00. Michael Gusenbauer has rearranged Bach's Christmas Oratorio into a story for children. The Deutsche Radio Philharmonie and the Collegium Vocale Blieskastel perform under conductor Christian von Blohn, with Judith Braun (soprano) and Markus Jaursch (bass).

Roland Kunz tells the story as "der Hirte" (the shepherd), for the third time. In a little under an hour the audience follows the Christmas story, from angels flying down from heaven and shepherds in the field to the stable in Bethlehem. Bach's music stays unchanged.

The concert is for children aged 5 and over and lasts about 1 hour. Tickets start at EUR 6.
