„Melde gehorsamst, dass ich überhaupt nicht denke“ – Die Abenteuer des braven Soldaten Schwejk is a Theaternachlese, a follow-up discussion on the production at Schauspiel Frankfurt. It takes place at Haus am Dom in Frankfurt on 24 November 2026, 19:30. Entry is free.

The production is based on Jaroslav Hašek and Bertolt Brecht. Despite his rheumatism, Schwejk goes off to war, which turns out to be chaos in Hašek's absurd episodes. Brecht's »Schweyk im zweiten Weltkrieg« was written in 1943 in American exile, with music by Hanns Eisler.

The evening asks whether an "idiot" like Schwejk can still throw a war machine off beat today. Taking part are Wolfram Koch and Melanie Straub, both of the Schauspiel Frankfurt ensemble, Katrin Spira from the Schauspiel Frankfurt dramaturgy, theologian Dr. Stefan Scholz and literary scholar Dr. Lisa Straßberger.
