The Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Asia's leading symphony orchestras, brings its artistry to Munich under the baton of its incoming music director Tarmo Peltokoski. Founded in 1947 as the Sino-British Orchestra and professionalized in 1974, the ensemble has built a rich history of international tours and acclaimed recordings.
This concert features the orchestra alongside pianist Martin Helmchen, offering a program that showcases the ensemble's renowned precision and expressive range. Peltokoski, who first guest-conducted the orchestra in 2023 and was appointed music director in 2024, leads the HKPO in this performance.
