Gwenifer Raymond at Brudenell Social Club, Leeds

She began playing guitar at the age of eight, shortly after first hearing punk and grunge. After years in punk bands around the Welsh valleys, she turned to pre-war blues musicians and Appalachian folk players, which led her to the guitar players of the American Primitive genre. She has since played her own American Primitive styled compositions on guitar and banjo around the UK and US.

In 2017 she signed to Tompkins Square and released her first single 'Sometimes There's Blood' in October of that year. Her debut album 'You Never Were Much of a Dancer' followed the next year.
