Vörösmarty Classic Xmas 2026: the Vörösmarty tér Christmas market in Budapest opens on 13 November

The organiser's own opening-hours page states that the market then runs until the dawn of the new year, and its home page promises programmes every day from the opening date.

General opening hours are 11.00 to 21.00 from Monday to Thursday, 11.00 to 22.00 on Friday and Saturday, and 11.00 to 21.00 on Sunday. The little train (kisvasút) on the square keeps shorter hours: 14.00 to 20.00 on weekdays and 11.00 to 20.00 at weekends. The organiser's programme page says visitors can ride the little train free of charge.

Several days in December 2026 have their own hours. On 24 December the market and the little train are open from 10.00 to 14.00. On 25 and 26 December the market opens from 12.00 to 18.00, with the little train starting at 14.00 on 26 December. On 29 and 30 December the hours are 11.00 to 21.00, and on 31 December the market stays open from 11.00 until 03.00 in the early hours.

The craft exhibitors and the little train are on the square for the last time on 28 December; after that the space is handed over to preparations for the party on the night of 31 December. Anyone coming mainly for the handmade goods should therefore plan a visit before that date.

The market is built around domestic craft exhibitors (hazai kézműves kiállítók) and food stalls, and the organiser lists a little train, a Christmas tree, charity activities and musical performers among the programme elements.
