This special evening in Imola pays tribute to Fabrizio De André's final studio album, *Anime salve*, released in 1996. Co-written with fellow Genoan singer-songwriter Ivano Fossati, the album is a rich tapestry of Latin-American, Eastern-European, and Mediterranean influences. The concert presents the album's nine tracks in sequence, from the Brazilian-inflected 'Princesa' to the poignant 'Smisurata preghiera', offering a complete immersion in De André's late-period masterwork.

Attendees can expect a reflective atmosphere as the music explores themes of solitude, diversity, and freedom. The performance highlights De André's lyrical depth and melodic sophistication, with songs like 'Khorakhané' (dedicated to Romani culture) and 'Â cúmba' showcasing Fossati's guest vocals. This 30th-anniversary rendition brings the album to life in an intimate setting, allowing fans to experience the full emotional arc of a landmark Italian album.

Released after six years of study, *Anime salve* marked a departure with its world music influences. De André undertook an extensive tour of Italy starting in late 1997 to promote the album, which continued until August 1998. The concert recreates that era, offering a chance to hear the album as originally performed live.
